FIBA Europe

FIBA Europe is a zone within the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) which includes all 52 national European basketball federations. Within this zone, FIBA Europe is the sole competent authority authoritised and delegated by FIBA for promoting, supervising, and directing all men’s and women’s basketball activities. The highest decision-making body is the Board of FIBA Europe which consists of 25 persons elected by the National Federations. It was founded in 1957 and promotes Basketball in Europe. Among many tasks, this includes promoting, supervising and directing international competition at the club and national team levels, as well as governing and appointing European international referees. FIBA organises the European Basketball Championships and is also responsible for staging the FIBA Europe CUP.
